THE MUSEUM
The official opening of the Halton Hills Sports Museum and Resource Centre took place on Sunday November 15, 2009.
Located in the Gordon Alcott Heritage Hall of the Mold-Masters SportsPlex, 221 Guelph Street, Halton Hills (Georgetown), Ontario, the Museum will honour and commemorate the achievements of athletes and volunteers from all eras and all sports throughout our communities.
The design of the Museum will focus on blending a variety of mixed media in the presentation of our local sporting history. Included in our exhibits are historical presentations outlining the development of the various sporting groups which service our communities.
As we grow it will be our objective to add interactive displays to more fully involve the museum viewer, to create outreach programs to take our local history into the community and to partner with our local schools to bring students into the Museum to learn about local sports history.
We know that you are proud of our local sporting accomplishments and the people who have represented our communities. It is our hope that you will be equally proud of the Halton Hills Sports Museum and Resource Centre and the way in which it honours our sporting history.
